Passage of Extended Care Permit Legislation (House Bill 2214)
Co-hosted, along with Kansas State Office of Oral Health, a stakeholder planning summit to create first-ever comprehensive statewide oral health plan.
Secured legislative appropriation and private funding to create an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Clinical Residency program at Wichita State University.
Established an electronic newsletter and advocacy alert system.
Host an annual Oral Health Advocacy Day at the Capitol.
Secured funding for an Office of Oral Health and a Dental Director within the State Department of Health and Environment.
Secured funding to create a project to assist dental hygienists, extended care settings and dentists in utilizing 2003 Extended Care Permit legislation.
Created a Dental Champions Leadership Program to provide intensive oral health, advocacy and leadership training to 20 oral health leaders per year.
Host the statewide Oral Health Conference.
Created Annual Excellence in Oral Health Awards in 4 categories (Individual, Orgnaization, Clinician, Policy Maker)
Hosted an Oral Health Workforce Summit to prioritize policy options impacting the declining supply of dental services in Kansas.
Created a statewide network of over 200 coalition members to assist in improving the oral health of all Kansans.
